Bellamy Brothers set to play Albany Live
By David H. Waller
Albany Live is bringing another big-name act to town, with the Bellamy Brothers set to perform on March 22 at the Aztec Theater. The concert marks the 18th show in the series, which has become a staple for live music in Albany.
The Bellamy Brothers, Howard and David Bellamy, have been making music for nearly five decades, crossing over from pop to country with hits like “Let Your Love Flow,” “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” and “Redneck Girl.” Their career has taken them all over the world, but their sound has remained rooted in classic country.
“The Bellamy Brothers are bringing their legendary country sound to the Aztec Theatre at the end of the month, with Albany Live producing what’s sure to be an unforgettable night,” said Michaela Smith, Albany Live president. “With decades of hits like ‘Let Your Love Flow’ and ‘Redneck Girl,’ their music has stood the test of time and continues to bring fans together. The energy is going to be incredible, and tickets are already selling fast. It’s shaping up to be a night full of great music, good vibes, and classic country at its best. Don’t miss out!”
Albany Live launched in 2020 and has since brought an impressive lineup of artists to the Aztec Theater, including Shane Smith & the Saints, Charlie Robison, Paul Cauthen, Chris Knight, and Reckless Kelly. The concert series has helped put Albany on the map as a stop for well-known artists while providing locals with high-quality live music without having to leave town.
After the Bellamy Brothers, Neal McCoy will take the Albany Live stage on April 5, followed by Dale Watson & His Lone Stars on June 7. McCoy, known for his high-energy performances, had several big hits in the ’90s, including “No Doubt About It” and “Wink.” Watson has built a reputation as one of country music’s most passionate traditionalists, creating what he calls “Ameripolitan music” to keep classic honky-tonk sounds alive.
Tickets for all upcoming shows are available now at albanylive.org. With the size of the venue and the popularity of these artists, early purchase is recommended.
