Fandangle preparations enter final stretch

The 87th anniversary of the  Fort Griffin Fandangle is set to open next week, with performances scheduled for June 20–21 and June 27–28 at the Prairie Theater.

The annual Fandangle Parade will take place on  Saturday, June 21. Entries are still being accepted for the parade. Those interested in participating may contact John Ayers (325-669-1156), Cori Bezner (325-660-1901), or Claire Ware (325-262-2389), or email info@fandangle.org.

Ticket sales have remained steady in the weeks leading up to opening night. “We’re seeing strong interest again this year,” said Jamie Parsons, Fandangle ticket manager. “Many of the central sections are filling up quickly, especially for the first weekend. We always encourage people to get their tickets early so they can pick the seats they want.” Tickets are available online at FortGriffinFandangle.com.

Rehearsals have continued on schedule despite recent rainstorms. Organizers noted that cast and crew have worked around weather delays to keep preparations on track.

The Fort Griffin Fandangle Association also reported this week that its ongoing capital campaign has passed the halfway mark. The $300,000 effort is aimed at constructing a new prop barn, repairing original sets, and restoring the Fandangle calliope.

More information about the show, ticketing, or the capital campaign can be found at FortGriffinFandangle.com.
