Chris Rogers

Chris Rogers, 38 of Albany, passed away in hospice with his family around him on Thursday, January 23, 2025 after battling cancer for four months. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, February 1st at Albany Cemetery with Jeff Pleasant officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Christopher Daniel Rogers was born in Abilene, Texas on June 4, 1986. He graduated high school in 2004 and worked as an equipment operator for windmills farms and was a driller on several rigs. Most recently, Chris has his own tree trimming business. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Chris. He was the joy of his life. They liked camping, hunting and fishing together. Chris was adventurous and enjoyed traveling. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Martha Rogers; two aunts Tammy Echols and Suzanne Gonzalez; two uncles, Bobby Rogers and Gary Rogers. 

Chris is survived by his parents, Jerry and Leisa Street of Albany; one son, Christopher Rogers and girlfriend Menda of Abilene; his significant other, Amanda Escalante of Abilene; Amanda’s daughters, Maritza and Abby; one uncle, Jimmy Echols of Carthage; and one grand baby that is on the way. 

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at morehartmortuary.net.
