BOBBIE CAUBLE

Bobbie Lee Cauble, 76, passed into her eternal rest on Nov. 11, 2024 after a long illness.

Bobbie Lee Gore was born on Mar. 8, 1948 in Hico, Texas to Bob and Fern Gore. She had two siblings, Donnie and Vicki.

Bobbie started school in Ranger, Texas and attended there through the 4th grade. Then the family moved to Albany, Texas, where her father took a job with the Texas Highway Department.

Bobbie was a proud graduate of Albany High School in 1966.  She attended Cisco Junior College, where she was a member of the Wrangler Belles Drill team until she obtained her Associates Degree in 1968. While at Cisco, she met and married Gene Merrell on Jan. 30, 1970 in Albany, Texas. They had three children: Melissa, Nicole, and Jeff.

After several years in the DFW Metroplex, Bobbie moved back home to Albany, where she married Joe Bob Cauble on Feb. 27, 1991. He died on July 30, 1996 of a sudden heart attack.

Bobbie loved her hometown of Albany and referred to it as “Big A.” She enjoyed her graduating class of 1966 and loved getting them together to celebrate Homecoming and enjoyed laughing over all the fun times they experienced.

Over the years, she also participated in several different stage production performances at the Aztec Theatre. For several years, she wrote a popular column, “You, Me, and Everyday Life” for The Albany News where she referenced funny family stories, memorable moments with friends, and the beauty of small town life in Albany.

Bobbie worked for a couple of credit unions throughout the years. She ended her career with Abilene TeachersFederalCredit Union, where she retired as a Loan Officer in 2012.

She was blessed to have a wonderful family, who all have strong faith. “My greatest blessings call me Mom” was a phrase she had hanging in her home. Her children remember her honest quick wit, positivity, work ethic, love for 60’s music, and unique ability to care for the people around her. All ten grandkids called her “Mimi” and she was known as a fun and generous grandmother. She was loved immensely by her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her older brother, and a grandson.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Melissa and David Lowrie of Lubbock, Nicole and Jason Reynolds of Weatherford, and Jeff and Tara Merrell of Denver, her grandchildren, her sister, and a niece and nephew. She also leaves behind dear friends from church, AHS classmates, former coworkers and many others who will miss the Bobbie Lee they had the honor of knowing and loving in her 76 years of life.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life on Nov. 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Albany. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts to Closet Angels orFBCAlbanyScholarship fund in her honor. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary. PD
