Albany Golf Club kicks off 2025 tournament season
The 2025 tournament season at the Albany Golf Club tees off this weekend with the second annual Christmas for Kids Tournament, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 3–4.
The two-day tournament is a three-person scramble format, with a $125 entry fee per player. Around 42 teams are expected to compete. A Calcutta will take place following Saturday’s afternoon round.
Limited openings remain for morning tee times. Those interested in participating can contact Reggy Spencer at (325) 370-8990, Shawn Sutton at (325) 514-3789, or Zach Maberry at (325) 660-7940 for more information.
All proceeds from the tournament support Christmas for Kids, a program that helps provide gifts and support to local children and families during the holiday season.
This year marks a special milestone for the Albany Golf Club as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. The club’s official centennial celebration will take place during the next tournament on the schedule—the Centennial Classic—set for June 14–15. The Centennial Classic, traditionally known as the Father’s Day Tournament, has been renamed this year in honor of the 100th anniversary. The event will return to its original name in 2026.
The summer and fall tournament schedule will continue with the Shackelford County Youth & Livestock Association Tournament on July 19–20, the Labor Day Tournament on August 30-31, followed by the Kiwanis Tournament on September 19, and the AGC Club Championship for members only on September 13–14.
The PTO Tournament is planned for September 27–28, and the Xi Chi Pi Sorority Tournament will be held October 4. The Mason Tournament wraps up the scheduled events on October 25.
Each tournament features either three-person or four-person scramble formats, depending on the event.
