Albany ISD trustees passed a budget for the 2024-2025 school year during a special early morning sessiononAug.29,meeting therequiredstatedeadline. They also okayed the proposed tax rate of 70.66 cents cents per $100 valuation, including the state-allowed “fivegoldenpennies.” Total expenditures budget are projected at $7,306,029,whilerevenues are listed at $6,651,775, a difference of $654,254.

Directors of the Shackelford County Appraisal District (SCAD) have set a public hearing for the proposed 2025 budget on Friday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 a.m.

Several local government entities have set or are in the process of scheduling meetings to approve budgets and/or tax rates, including the following: •Shackelford County: Sept. 9, budget and tax rate hearing 8:45 a.m.

A special meeting is set for Friday, Aug. 30 for the Albany ISD Board of Trustees to approve the 2024-25 budget and adopt a tax rate following a mandatory hearing that is open to the public.
