Don Sazama, 85 of Albany, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Joyce Sazama, 81 of Albany, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023. Graveside funeral services were held Monday, July 3 at the Albany Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Tom Chandler and Pastor Paul Johnston officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

BEVERLY McDONALD

Beverly Ann McDonald, 67, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on June 27, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born with a heart defect on Dec. 30, 1955, to Elva and Bud Dillingham, she was only given two weeks to live.

Specialists in Dallas said she would never live a normal life. In 1962, at the age of seven, surgery was performed to correct a hole in Beverly’s heart. Given only a 20 percent chance to live through the procedure, she was one of hundreds that survived.

WILMA JO MITCHELL

Wilma Jo Tucker Mitchell died on Friday, June 23, 2023. Burial will be in the family plot, at the cemetery in Albany on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial reception and lunch at The Old Jail Art Center at 11:00 am. All are welcome. Services are under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

WILFORD NOACK

Wilford W. Noack, long-time Abilene resident, passed away on June 25, 2023, in Horseshoe Bay, TX. He was just five weeks shy of his 95th birthday.

He was born on July 27, 1928, in Shackelford County, TX to Willie and Frieda Noack. He attended public schools in Albany TX. Wilford proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict, drafted in February 1951. He was on Active Duty until 1953 and Active Reserve until 1956.

JAMES SANDERS

James Curtis ­Sanders Jr. (Sandy or JC) age 73 of Lueders, went to be with the Lord and all of those loved ones who have passed before him on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. He was surrounded by his family in a circle of prayer.

Visitation will be held at Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home in Stamford, Texas on June 23, 2023 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held in the Ledbetter Cemetery in Throckmorton County on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.

MAXINE MOORE

Maxine Moore, age 92 of Albany, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 16 at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Johnston officiating. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Maxine Levelle Rhodes was born Jan. 21, 1931 in Olden, Texas to Henry Arnold Rhodes and Gladys Mae Ferguson Rhodes. On Aug. 7, 1947, she married J.M. Moore in Albany, Texas.

LYNN BREEDEN

Alice Lynn Breeden, age 80 of Snyder, formerly of Albany, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Slaton Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 15 at First Christian Church of Albany, with Pastor Robert Webb officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

REV. EDDIE PRICE

Rev. Eddie Price, age 88 of Albany, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 7 at First Baptist Church with Rev. John Tunnell officiating. Interment followed in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Merlin Edward Price was born Feb. 2, 1935 in Emhouse, Texas to David Kenton Price and Mable E. Brock Price. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1957.

ROB CHILDERS

Robert P. “Rob” Childers, 85, of Granbury, Texas and former resident of Albany, Texas, passed away on May 20, 2023 at his home in Granbury.

Rob was born on Dec. 2, 1937 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Robert Jefferson Childers and Ola Jewel Parsons and was the youngest of seven children. Rob graduated from Garden City High School in 1956 and married Kathleen Crabtree in Lovington, New Mexico on May 31, 1957.

RICHARD WILSON

Richard Ray Wilson 68, of Albany passed away May 27, 2023. He was born on May 8, 1955 in Abilene Texas to Aubrey Leston Wilson and Ruby Nell Jennings Wilson.

Richard grew up in Hamby, Texas and graduated from Albany High School in 1973. He attended Tarleton State University. Richard married Sara Turner on Mar. 18, 1978 in Austin, Texas. Richard worked for the city of Albany for 10 years and retired from EBAA Iron after 27 years.
