Cubs open season with shutout wins

By Donnie A. Lucas The Albany Cubs opened the season with a pair of shutout wins in Dublin last week. The teams will travel to Hamlin this Thursday (today) for the next bouts, with the seventh graders playing Wylie East’s seventh graders at Hamlin starting at 4:00 p.m.

Lady Bulldogs prepare for district play

By Lynsi Musselman The Lady Bulldogs have lost the last two games in three sets against Benjamin and Woodson. Moran High School volleyball coach Jo Hise said even though they lost the games, it gave the team a chance to work on their rotation and working each player into rotation.

Lady Lions dominate in last 3 games, post 8-1 record

By Donnie A. Lucas The Lady Lion volleyball team picked up three more wins last week, including opening the district race in Ranger. Albany hosted Woodson on Tuesday, earning a 25-9, 25-7, 25-13 win to go to 8-1 for the season.
