4-H horse clinic planned tonight

By Lynsi Musselman The Shackelford County 4-H horse program will have its first horse clinic on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m., after rescheduling last week’s Oct. 1 clinic. The clinic will be held at the county show barn.

New NHS members to be inducted

Albany students and staff will enjoy a break from classes on Columbus Day, Monday Oct.  12, with a student and staff  holiday scheduled. Classes will resume for all AISD students on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the normal 7:55 a.m. time for the start of the school day at NSES and 8:00 a.m.

JV Lions come back for last second win

By Donnie A. Lucas After being down 13-0 at the half, the Albany JV Lions rallied to come back for a 14-13 win over Eastland last Thursday. The Lions will host a Clyde JV team this week, with kickoff set for about 6:30 p.m. following a junior high game.

Jr. high teams to play Hico, Hawley

By Donnie A. Lucas The two junior high football teams came home with victories last week, although against different opponents. Both the seventh and eighth grade squads will play Thursday (today), with the eighth grade hosting Hico at 5:00 p.m.
