With the school year winding down, summer is about to kick off, and registration is now open for ResourceCare’s Day Camp 2024 set July 15-19 and 22-26.

A whirlwind of activities is about to begin as members of the Albany High School Class of 2024 face a busy May schedule, ending with commencement exercises on May 24.

The 2024 Albany Jr./ Sr. High School Academic Banquet will be held Monday, May 6 at the high school gym.

Rehearsals for the four summer performances of the Fort Griffin Fandangle will start on Monday, May 13 with a new practice schedule that should be easier on performers this season. According to Fandangle artistic director Lorna Ayers, the rehearsals will be different this year than in the past.

The City of Albany is gearing up for summer fun with the hiring of a new pool manager and several lifeguards for the upcoming season. The pool will open on Saturday, June 1 with Splash Day.

Tickets are still available for the May 18 concert in the Albany Live series featuring William Beckmann at theAztec Theater. The local concert series also announced that a second performance night has been added for the Pat Green show in June.
