Fall Fest is just over one weekaway,andtheAlbany PTO is excited to host its annual fundraiser, which raises money for senior scholarships and school suppliesforbothcampuses. Fall Fest is set for Saturday, Nov.

Moran ISD has a full slate of activities scheduled leading up to Halloween and Veterans Day inadditiontootherevents on the schedule. Moran will take part in Red Ribbon Week next week with a series of dress-up days planned.

Rehearsals for the “Albany Nativity” will start during the first week of November, withperformances scheduledforDec.13and14 at the Aztec Theater. Tickets are free to the public but will not be available until December at the Albany Chamber of Commerce office.

The Feed Store is busy organizing its 28th annual Running Man competition. The event is open to junior high and high school students from Albany and Moran.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. Albany ISD Dyslexia Coordinator Kristie Smith serves students on both elementary and secondary campuses.

The Albany Ragin’ Red Band brought home a Division II rating from the UIL Marching contest held Monday in Abilene. The band earned Division II ratings from each of three judges, marking the first time in five years that the group has received a Division II “excellent” rating rather than a Division I “superior” mark.
