Tentative deal made in tax lawsuit

A tentative agreement has been reached in a lawsuit by the Hackberry Wind Farm seeking a reduction in property taxes assessed for 2022 and 2023, according to the Shackelford County Appraisal District’s chief appraiser Clayton Snyder. The two sides have held a series of “informal” meetings and discussions recently, with wind farm representatives agreeing to a compromise proposal made by the appraisal district to reduce the assessed value of the wind farm by 10.44 percent for 2022 and 22.22 percent for 2023.
