Closet Angels to close in Dec.

Closet Angels will be open one more week before closing until Jan. 6, according to Lori Reames, director. “We will open Monday, Dec. 16 for local and Breckenridge customers, then close till Jan. 6,” she said.

Decoration contest begins

TheAlbanyChamber ofCommercehasopened nominationsforthe2024 Albany Christmas Decoration Contest, inviting residents to highlight the best outdoor holiday displays in town. The contest is open to homes within the Albany city limits, and nominations will be accepted from Dec. 9 through Dec. 16.

Lady Lions work to strengthen their game

The Albany Lady Lions enjoyed their best outing of the season last week in their final tuneup before district play. 

Albany (3-11) opened the District 10-2A schedule Tuesday, Dec. 10 with a 54-26 loss to Hawley. Details will be re-ported next week. 

The Lady Lions’ next district game is Friday, Dec. 20 at Stamford.

The Albany girls continue to make progress in building a new program. They will have an open date next Tuesday, then travel to Stamford for another district game on Friday, Dec. 20.

Christmas Village brings Albany to life

When Cindy Parsons started her Christmas village collection in 1993, she couldn’t have imagined how large the magical display would grow to be today. Inspired by the charm of miniature villages, she began building her own with her late mother Tootie Rhoads for many years. Now, the tradition continues as a mother-daughter project with Cindy and her daughter, Ashley.
