Chamber garage sale registration to begin
Registration for the Albany Chamber of Commerce’scommunitywide garage sale will begin Tuesday, Aug. 27, according to Chamber manager Brandi Lehew.
STAAR test corrections reported
A few of the passing percentages provided by the school district that were reported last week were incorrect. The largest correction was in third grade math STAAR scores, which were initially reported as 31 percent.
Chamber decides on monthly lunch
The Albany Chamber of Commerce directors have voted to meet on the first Friday of each month rather than every Friday starting in September. Weekly luncheons at the Icehouse Restaurant will continue on the next three Fridays on Aug.

AISD expects 475 to enroll for 24-25 year
Expected enrollment numbers are down by about 15 students for Albany ISD compared the beginning of the 202324 school year, including about 10 who are expected but still not registered as of Tuesday. On Tuesday, a total of 459 students were enrolled for the new school year, which is about the same number as last year at this point.
