The Albany Chamber of Commerce is beginning preparations for its annual community garage sale, scheduled this year for Saturday, Sept. 14.

Albany FFA advisor Chris Beard and a number of volunteers have been upgrading facilities at the school’s ag barn, which houses livestock projects for a number of students. An addition to the barn is a mechanical walker used to exercise sheep and goats.

The Albany PTO is hosting a movie night Saturday, Aug. 10 at Nail Stadium starting at 7:00 p.m.withadoublefeature forthepublicincludingAlbany and Moran children and their parents.

Parents and students are reminded that team and individual photos are being scheduled over the next couple of weeks. The band group photo was taken earlier this week, with individuals currently being scheduled.

The annual Back to School Bash held last Tuesday at Closet Angels proved to be a huge success, supplying over 100 adults and children with basic clothing, shoes, coats, and hoodies, according to Closet Angels coordinator Lori Reames. “This year, we added socks and underwear, hoodies and coats to help struggling families get outfitted for a new school year,” Reames said.
