ShackelfordCounty4-H got its Shooting Sports program underway last week with an introductory Archery session led by Nick Rose at the Shackelford County Show Barn. Shackelford County extension agent Kelsey Bell said a second meeting was held Tuesday, Feb.

Representatives of local organizations and boards that award scholarships to AlbanyHighSchoolgraduates are asked to contact Ann Riley at theAHS office by Monday, March 25. The office will be closed for spring break March 1115 for spring break but will reopen for regular hours on Monday, March 18.

A number of Albany students will compete in theAbileneWylieValentine UIL Classic on Saturday at Wylie High School. UIL director Rick Davis said this is the second practice meet of the season in preparation for the district contest set for April 3 in Anson.

Estridge finishes at SPC

Wesley Estridge of Albany graduated with his Welding Certificate – Advanced Processes from South Plains College in Fall 2023. Estridge was among more than 400 students who were recognized by South Plains for academic achievement. Wesley is the son of Val and Blake Estridge of Albany.
