Joye “Loraine” Edgar, age 77 of Sweetwater, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022. A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 28 at the Albany Cemetery with Pastor Luke Spraberry officiating. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Joye Loraine Fancher was born Nov. 16, 1944, in Rotan, Texas to Donald Earl “Man” Fancher and Richard “Kate” Coan Fancher. She married William Cecil “Sonny” Edgar on July 4, 1965.

Bart “Randy” Hobbs, age 72 of Albany, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 29 at Albany Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Pleasant officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Bart “Randy” Hobbs was born May 24, 1949 in Olney, Texas to Bart T. Hobbs and Tressie Florene Byrd Hobbs. He graduated high school and later enlisted in the United States Army. He served until he was honorably discharged in 1971.

Judith Dorine Wood, 80, of Albany passed away peacefully Jan. 23, 2022 in Anson surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born May 24, 1941 in Benton, IL to parents George Leonard “Cocky” and Joan Wood. The family moved to Texas when she was five years old, and she often said “she got to Texas as quick as she could!”

Claude Lanier Campbell of San Angelo passed away on Jan. 18, 2022, at the age of 82.

He was born on March 30, 1939, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Mervyn “Mutt” Campbell and Pauline (Winters) Campbell. Raised in South Texas, he graduated from Calallen High School in 1957, where he was a sports star, participating in basketball, baseball, and golf, achieving state-level honors in the latter.

Monte Lewis, age 41 of Albany passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 17 at Bethel Assembly with Pastor Luke Spraberry and Darrel Conway officiating. Interment followed at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Terry Joe Clift, 76, of Albany passed away on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service will be held at the Albany Cemetery Pavilion in Albany, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Sherman Bates officiating.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1945 in Abilene, Texas to the late W.L. and Nina Clift, the middle of 10 siblings.

Georgia Barrett, age 76 of Albany, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 18 at First United Methodist Church of Albany with Rev. Tim Trimble officiating. Interment followed in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Georgia Ann Bowsher was born Nov. 5, 1945 in Stamford, Texas to George Madison Bowsher and Anna Shelton Bowsher. She graduated from Albany High School. Georgia married Charles Barrett in Albany on Dec. 14, 1963. 

Winford (Sarge) Sargent, age 67 of Albany, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021. Graveside funeral services with full military honors were held Monday, Dec. 13 at Albany Cemetery with Clint Chapman officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Winford Dennis Sargent was born June 24, 1954 in Albany, Texas to Walter Dennis “WD” Sargent and Margie Sue Moore Sargent. He married Tracey Dover on Jan. 9, 1988 in Abilene. 

Johney Ray Alexander, age 63 Albany, passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 9 at Albany Cemetery. 

Johney Ray Alexander was born Sept. 17, 1958 in Albany at the old hospital to William Alfred Alexander and Betty Jean McKee Alexander.  

He had a passion for fishing, going to the casino and playing bingo. He also enjoyed hunting, wolves, and eagles. 

Johney was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Alexander; and one nephew, James Alexander.

San Angelo - Robert “Bobby” Ramon, 66, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, in San Angelo.

Public viewing was Monday, Nov. 29 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor Roy Ramon, Bobby’s brother, and pastor of Beacon Baptist church, officiating. Burial was Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Albany Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
